I had two awesome nurses in my stay at holy cross hospital. First was Josylin Hernandez who assisted with my Pet Scan and Stress test. ( she was awesome)
The second but not second , she was the most compassionate, caring and capable nurse i have ever met : she was a recovery room nurse who stayed by my side for 8 hours : when I was sent to my room , she actually came to visit on several occasions. I only know her by
Z" Z deserves an award , best of the best
Without these two outstanding nurses and my excellent doctors I would be giving a One Star review. I'm not a negative person so I will not dwell on the care I actually received while on the step down unit .
" Z " And nurse Hernandez plus the doctors who deserve better , saved my life and I will forever be grateful ?

Avoid this place at all costs, they will blindside you and will not be transparent with how they bill you. i asked upfront about how I was going to get charged and was assured that my insurance was going to cover the appointment. Then they went ahead and made up outrageous charges and forced me to pay close to $700 for a quick appointment that lasted a few minutes and that my insurance (BCBS of Texas) did not cover. The doctor that helped me was good but unfortunately I have to leave a 1 star because the way this place bills you is ridiculous.

Anytime I leave a review for a hospital I start off my mentioning that I have been working in hospitals for close to a decade as part of the medical team… so I know what good care looks like. We ended up in the ER 2 times here and both times were excellent experiences. The staff were top tier, extremely friendly, and did a fantastic job.

Dr. Wang replaced my knee at Holy Cross Hospital. Great experience so far. Staff is busy but attentive. Friendly, courtesy and out going. I have a double room but no one is there. Great WiFi. TV not so much. Excellent food so far.
Update: Just had ankle replacement surgery by Dr. Robert Mills. Went great so far. I love this hospital.
Update 3-6-2010
I've now had a knee replacement, ankle replacement and cardiac catheterization at Holy Cross. I have had nothing but a great experience. The people are the difference. Great people. In a few days I will be getting having a triple bypass there. I'll let you know how it goes.

My review is for my PCP, Dr. Singer, at Holy Cross. I moved to FL about 7 years ago and had a PCP that was just OK but he left the practice. I googled Holy Cross for a PCP and Dr. Singer's video and reviews caught my eye. I never received any survey to rate him on their website so I decided to do it on google. I've been seeing him over a year and I have a number of rarer health conditions. Dr. Singer is professional, friendly, listens to what I have to say (which many doctors don't do now a days). Dr. Singer always has a smile to greet you and responds quickly to any questions or medications I need via My Chart. Dr. Singer in my opinion, truly cares and is a great PCP if not more. I highly recommend him.

This hospital of offering nothing and a half. I'm very sad to write a negative review because I'm so positively aligned with the Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute that is part of Holy Cross. I suffer from severe migraines. 20-25 per month. The treatments I receive literally saved my life and allowed me to work again. I went to the ER at my practitioners advice. I was weeks into varying degrees of headaches and then finally 4 days of level 10 migraines. I've had major surgeries that I would now consider fun. I could get specifically detailed and I want to but I won't. I'll just say that if you don't like being an ER nurse, don't continue. My nurse was a vision in all pink scrubs. A sweet southern charm with a Bless Your Heart waiting patiently on the tip of the tongue. This experience was supposed to be some fluids and an MRI that we felt couldn't wait for my PCP to deal with. There were some concerns of a possible stroke. I was in this hospital for 20 hours. 12 of the in the ER being not taken care of. The 2 primary objectives were to eliminate my pain if only enough to allow me to sleep and take a looksie at my brain. The failed at both. I have a long history here and if they looked they would find that I've only received pain meds once in 8 years. I needed a serious IV drip to sleep or to be placed in an alter reality. That's what they make there medication for. An established migraine sufferer in a rare level 10 migraine attack should be taken care of. It's not a stretch. Eliminate the pain, give the CNS a moment to collect itself and you have a chance of taking your patient out of the critical phase. To the phase where 800 mg of Advil will do the trick. I won't be more specific but most of the 3 crews I dealt with (yea I was there that long) were very unhappy with their jobs, not very adept at them and eager to talk about how unhappy they were. But secondary nurse that I spent most of my time with was a mess. I'm fine dealing with passive aggressive people. I live in Florida, but this one. Damn. This was a Masterclass. Do not go here unless you're having a heart attack. If you have an issue with your foot. Just gnaw it off and drive up north to Boca to have them salvage what they can. If you're experiencing any pain this is not the place for you. I had to leave. They did not have 2 of my critical medications. I was advised that night that I would receive them. Since I've never missed a dose of either in 29 years it's disappointing that this occurred here. They simply said that I should have brought my own. Well this isn't how all hospitals work and I had no idea I was going to be there for 21 hours. I though 3 hours would have sufficed. So I had no choice. Stay for another 14 hours at what? $1000.00 per hour waiting until 4:30 am for a MRI? They only had 1 working. It's a Catholic hospital. I don't know.... Pray harder? I'm just at a loss.

We want to express our gratitude for the excellent medical care my brother received at Holy Cross Hospital. The staff, including Dr. Dabiri, Dr. Karthikeyan, Dr. Deisrick, RN Annella, RN Blanca, RN Adriana, and RN Case Manager L.K., were incredibly professional and caring. They consistently kept our family well-informed about my brother's condition.
